Section 01

Standard Return Window

We accept returns on unused, uninstalled parts in original packaging within 14 days of the original purchase date. Our return process is built to be fast and fair — but it requires that parts come back in the condition they left.

25%
Restocking Fee
Applied to All Non-Warranty Returns
This fee covers the logistical cost of receiving, inspecting, and re-certifying returned parts. We invest in specialized testing to ensure every part on our shelf is fit for professional installation. That process has a cost — and this fee keeps our pricing competitive for everyone.
  • 🧾
Proof of Purchase Required: Original receipt or active Washington Rewards account. Rewards members have every transaction on file — no paper needed, ever.
  • 📦
Original Packaging Condition: Parts must be returned in their original, undamaged, factory-sealed packaging. Parts returned in unmarked bags, damaged boxes, or without packaging are not eligible for return.
  • 🔩
Unused & Uninstalled: Parts must show no signs of installation, modification, or use. If it went on a vehicle — even briefly — it is not returnable. We inspect every return for thread marks, connector wear, and installation indicators.
  • 📅
14-Day Hard Deadline: Returns requested after 14 days of purchase will not be accepted under any circumstances outside of a documented manufacturer warranty claim.
Washington Rewards Advantage: Rewards members can initiate returns faster because your complete purchase history — part number, date, price, and transaction record — is already in our system. No hunting for receipts. No disputes.

Section 02

Electrical Components — Final Sale

⚡ Final Sale — No Exceptions

To protect our customers from receiving compromised electronics, all electrical components are non-returnable and non-refundable once they leave our facility. Electrical parts are uniquely vulnerable to damage from incorrect installation, voltage spikes, and static discharge — damage that may not be immediately visible but renders the part unsafe for resale.

This policy exists to protect you. An electrical component that was installed — even briefly — on the wrong circuit, wrong polarity, or wrong vehicle spec is potentially compromised. We cannot put that part back on our shelf and sell it to another professional shop. This is a matter of safety, not just policy.

The following categories are Final Sale with no exceptions:

Alternators & Starters
Batteries & Relays
Control Modules & ECUs
Sensors (O2, MAF, MAP, ABS)
Ignition Coils & Modules
Switches & Body Control Modules
Fuel Injectors & Solenoids
All Wiring & Connectors
Warranty Exception: Electrical parts that fail due to a documented manufacturing defect are still eligible for Warranty Replacement through the manufacturer's program. However, no cash refund or store credit will be issued — warranty coverage means replacement only.

Section 03

Battery Returns & Core Exchanges

Batteries carry their own separate return procedure. Our ProMax and P1 battery lines include a 24-month manufacturer warranty — but that warranty only applies when the battery meets our diagnostic and condition standards.

✓ Qualifies for Swap / Warranty
  • Battery tests "Defective" on our in-store diagnostic equipment
  • Production date sticker is intact, legible, and unaltered
  • Returned within the 24-month warranty window
  • Original receipt or Washington Rewards account on file
  • Vehicle required AGM and an AGM was installed
✕ Not Eligible for Warranty
  • Battery tests "Good" — subject to 25% restocking fee if returned
  • Production sticker is removed, damaged, or altered
  • AGM vehicle received a standard flooded battery — voids all coverage
  • Damage from improper installation or electrical system issues
  • Battery is outside the 24-month window
AGM Policy: If your vehicle's factory specification calls for an AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery, installing a standard flooded battery will void all warranty coverage entirely — regardless of when the battery fails. Always confirm the correct chemistry for the vehicle before purchase.

Section 04

Special Orders — Final Sale

📦 Final Sale — Non-Returnable

Any item not held in our standard 32 Greenwood Ave inventory that is specifically sourced and ordered for a customer is Final Sale and non-returnable under any circumstance.

Special orders are procured specifically for your vehicle or application — they cannot be restocked to our general inventory. Confirm your part number, year, make, model, and trim before authorizing a special order. Our counter team will verify every detail with you before placing the order.
  • 📌
No Cancellations After Confirmation: Once a special order is confirmed and placed with our supplier network, it cannot be cancelled or refunded.
  • 🔍
Pre-Order Verification: Our team will walk through the exact vehicle spec with you before placing any special order. Take advantage of this — it's the best protection against ordering the wrong part.

Section 05

The No-Labor Rule

Washington Auto Parts Is a Parts Supplier — Not a Service Facility.

Our liability is strictly limited to the replacement of a defective component. Under no circumstances will Washington Auto Parts reimburse, cover, or accept responsibility for costs incurred during or after installation.

If a part is found to be defective after installation, the appropriate recourse is a warranty replacement claim filed directly with the manufacturer. Our team will assist you in initiating that process — but the manufacturer, not Washington Auto Parts, is the responsible party for consequential costs.

✕ Labor Costs ✕ Towing Fees ✕ Diagnostic Charges ✕ Rental Vehicle Costs ✕ Loss of Use Claims ✕ Consequential Damages
For Professional Shops: Labor claims related to defective parts must be initiated with the manufacturer directly, not through Washington Auto Parts. We will provide all documentation, part numbers, and purchase records needed to support your claim — but the manufacturer holds the liability for labor-related defect costs.

Section 06

Filing a Return or Warranty Claim

We process every legitimate claim at the counter, on the spot. No lengthy forms, no manufacturer approval waiting period, no runaround. Bring what we need and we'll resolve it in minutes.

  • 01
Bring Your Proof: Present your original receipt or provide your Washington Rewards account name or phone number. Rewards members have every transaction on file — no paper required.
  • 02
Present the Part: Return the part in its original packaging. For warranty claims, bring the part in the condition it failed. Our team will inspect and document the defect.
  • 03
Diagnostic Verification (Batteries): If your claim involves a battery, it will be tested on our in-store equipment. A result of "Defective" is required for warranty replacement. A "Good" result means the battery is functional — that is not a warrantable condition.
  • 04
Immediate Resolution: Approved claims receive an immediate part replacement or account credit at the counter. No waiting on manufacturer callbacks. We back our inventory and we make it right on the spot.
